Uist News, Wednesday 1st July A dry and calm start to the day here on Uist today. It is forecast to get wet and windy this afternoon though. A swift was seen flying east over Kallin, a picturesque, bustling fishing village on the island of Grimsay, yesterday. This medium-sized aerial bird is a superb flyer which sleeps, eats, bathes and even mates on the wing. They can also reach an impressive top speed of 69 mph.
