A calm but chilly start to the day here on North Uist this morning, the gritters were out early this morning though making the roads safe for everyone leaving home early. The forecast for the rest of the day is looking good with sunshine expected later on this morning. Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd has launched a public vote to help choose names for the 2 new ferries that are being built to serve the Little Minch routes, the short-listed names are - Eubhal, Eilean Dorcha, Claymore, Orasay, Pioneer, Scotasay, Clisham and Lochmor.
Miniature narcissus is just another name for a dwarf daffodil variety. Like regular-sized daffodils, they grow from fall planted bulbs and bloom in spring. The size of a dwarf daffodil depends on the variety, but generally they grow 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm.) tall with flowers that are just one and a half inches (4 cm.).
