Uist News, Friday 20th December A very dreich start to the day here on Uist this morning. It is forecast to remain breezy for the rest of the day, but there should be periods of sunshine until early afternoon. A large area of low pressure is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the Hebrides at the weekend with gusts of up to 67 mph expected tomorrow. Due to this adverse weather, a number of our ferries are set to be impacted with some liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.
Miniature narcissus is just another name for a dwarf daffodil variety. Like regular-sized daffodils, they grow from fall planted bulbs and bloom in spring. The size of a dwarf daffodil depends on the variety, but generally they grow 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm.) tall with flowers that are just one and a half inches (4 cm.).
