Uist News, Monday 15th SeptemberA calm but showery start to the day here on North Uist today. It is forecast to remain the same for the rest of the day with temperatures of up to 14 degrees. Wildlife spotted on Uist over the weekend were Grey Phalaropes, Curlew Sandpipers, a Black tern, a Hobby and a Hoopoe. A Blue-headed Wagtail was also seen on South Uist. This beautiful little bird has a distinctive blue-grey head in males, prominent white eyebrows and bright yellow underparts. They can often be seen following grazing livestock, such as sheep, to feed on insects disturbed by their movements.
