Uist News, Friday 24th January A calm start to the day here on Uist this morning. Storm Eowyn is forecast to bring disruptive winds as well as heavy rain to the Western Isles later on today, and is expected to last until tomorrow morning. All flights and ferries have been cancelled for the day. All Western Isles primary schools, secondary schools and nurseries will also be closed to pupils and staff.
Miniature narcissus is just another name for a dwarf daffodil variety. Like regular-sized daffodils, they grow from fall planted bulbs and bloom in spring. The size of a dwarf daffodil depends on the variety, but generally they grow 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm.) tall with flowers that are just one and a half inches (4 cm.).
